“Campus Race to Zero Waste” Events in March

Do you want to get involved? Look no further! Below is an overview of our upcoming outreach and volunteer events:
“Mount Trashmore” – Join us on Wednesday, March 9th from 10am-1pm at the Chess Plaza. Mount Trashmore is an annual demonstration of the trash and recycling that the campus uses in a single day. Office of Sustainability staff and student workers will be present to answer your questions about recycling and composting on campus, single-use plastics, and reducing your waste.
“Free E-Waste Collection” – On Friday, March 25th, you can find the Office of Sustainability at the Plinth! We will be accepting personal electronics for free and ethical e-waste recycling. You can drop off most e-waste, including phones, computers, TVs, printers, and other consumer electronics.
“Campus Cleanup” – If you are interested in earning volunteer hours for Sustainability Service Honors, come out on Saturday, March 26th from 9am-12pm to help beautify campus grounds and protect our wildlife. Students will engage in a 3-hour litter pickup with our Eco Reps (training included). Location: TBD.
