Keeping UTD Green

Hello everyone!

Now that the school year is transitioning into in person again and some of us are working and going to classes on campus, here are some sustainable habits we can continue to practice to keep our campus green.

When we pick up on the simple ways we can be more sustainable in our everyday lives, these actions eventually grow to be good habits in our lives – turning off the lights when we leave the room, bringing a reusable bottle with us to places, and knowing to say no to free swag that we will never use. When we are being good stewards of the environment we live in, we are also reducing electricity and water use, cutting out single-use plastics that do not add value into our lives, making good use of our resources, and even saving money on bills.

Remember, sustainability is not about being perfect, little steps matter. There are great benefits to practicing a sustainable lifestyle where we go!
